Connect your streaming tab
Streaming sites are sealed off from other websites on purpose, so a page on its own can't press play for you. The filmkorner companion is a small browser add-on that can — and it only ever talks to your room.

Download and unzip
Grab the companion below and unzip it somewhere you won't delete by accident — your Documents folder is fine.

Open your browser's extensions page
Paste chrome://extensions into the address bar. On Edge it's edge://extensions, on Brave brave://extensions.

Turn on Developer mode
The toggle sits in the top-right corner of that page.

Load unpacked
Click “Load unpacked” and pick the folder you unzipped. The popcorn icon appears in your toolbar.

Open your room, then a video
With your room open in one tab, the companion picks up the code by itself. Open Netflix or YouTube in another tab and press play. Your room shows when the player is ready.
What it can see
- · Whether your player is paused, how far in you are, and the title name shown in the tab.
- · The companion uses the room session to connect your player, chat and reactions. It does not need your streaming password or payment details.
- · The companion also carries chat and reactions in a panel on your streaming tab. Voice uses the microphone in your room tab; keep that tab open.
